If managing your thick hair is a daily struggle, here are three styling tips from a professional stylist to help you

When it come to hair types, thick, luscious locks are often what is most desired. However, anyone who has naturally coarse hair will understand the time and effort it takes to maintain it. Planning your life around wash days are not uncommon when dealing with a this type of hair. Stylist Tanya Flynn from Peter Mark, Mullingar shares her advice on how to style and manage thick, coarse hair.

Steam pod

If it takes you hours upon hours to style your hair, then the L’Oréal steam pod is what you need. As it is a tool that adds moisture while styling, it is perfect for coarse hair that is naturally dry. Using a tool like this will also leave your hair feeling healthier. It works quicker than your usual straightener/curler as it will glide seamlessly through large sections.

Boar brush

To brush out styled curls, a boar bristle brush is best. With a mix of natural boar bristles and nylon pins, it helps to detangle hair while also spreading the scalps natural oils. Its curved surface also makes it ideal for blow drying as you can reach every angle around your head.

Curly Ever After

This ghd curl hold spray is Tanya’s recommended product to get the most out your curls. As well as holding everything in place, it forms as a protective layer over the hair for added shine and smoothness. That means, no annoying frizzies that often start to appear after styling thick hair.
