None other than Oprah Winfrey is a fan of this Irish kitchen staple…

Oprah Winfrey

The American chat show icon is the latest famous fan of this Irish brand!

What does Sarah Jessica Parker, Stanley Tucci, Kourtney Kardashian, Chrissy Teigen and now Oprah Winfrey have in common? Well, for one, they’re all fans of a particular Irish butter.

Oprah is the latest global celebrity to share that she uses Irish-made kitchen staple Kerrygold in her cooking.

The American talk show host, actress and author shared a cooking video to her 21.8 million followers on Instagram, where eagle-eyed viewers can spot the Irish butter as one of the ingredients used to make her breadsticks.

Earlier this month, Keeping Up With The Kardashians star Kourtney posted her recipe for cookies, with Kerrygold on the list. She previously shared a recipe in 2015 for Rice Krispie squares using the Irish butter, so she’s clearly been a fan for quite a while.

Renowned actor Stanley Tucci shared during lockdown that if there was no Kerrygold butter in stock, it was because “it’s either in our freezer or we ate it.”

“All of it,” the famous foodie and filmmaker said. “Probably without even spreading it on anything.”

Cookbook author and tv star Chrissy Teigen shared a photo of the brand, with the caption, “Not an ad, just really awesome, salty, sweet, butter for toast, oh baby”.

And Sex in the City’s Sarah Jessica Parker, a long-time champion of all things Irish, famously wrote a love letter to the country upon leaving her holiday home in Donegal for the summer.

She wrote: “Farewell chips and tweed and open smiles. Farewell ‘marked bags’, lamb cutlets and Kerrygold. Farewell to the most perfect spuds in all the world. Flowery or waxy. I will miss you most of all. X,SJ”

In the US, Kerrygold — operated by Irish dairy group Ornua — is the number one imported butter. It is the second most popular butter brand in the country overall, and in recent years became the first Irish food brand to exceed €1 billion in annual sales, a figure which is ever-growing. Kerrygold abú!
