Nine gorgeous outdoor spots across Ireland for al fresco dining

Enjoy the Irish landscape in all it’s glory by dining outdoors during the fine weather – here are some of our favourite locations

1. Seven Bar at The Heritage, Co Laois

This terrace at the Heritage hotel is a spacious outdoor dining area serving lunch and dinner from Seven Bar, with scenic views of the golf course. The impressive building is open from all sides, with a retractable roof for optional added sunshine when the weather allows.

2. Ice House Hotel, Co Mayo

Overlooking the River Moy and the woodlands beyond, the terrace at the Ice House is a glorious haven to while away lazy days and summer nights with local Mayo menus and an exciting cocktail list.

3. The Grayson, Co Dublin

The stunning glass-roofed atrium and outdoor terrace at The Grayson provides the perfect backdrop for friends and family to enjoy the summer months together.  

4. Sanctuary at The River Club, Co Cork

The terrace at The River Club has been transformed into a floral oasis of tranquillity just in time for the warmer months, designed in partnership with Fox Flowers. Creating a tranquil and calming atmosphere, it is truly the ideal place to unwind after a busy day.

5. Carriage House Terrace at Adare Manor, Co Limerick

Even if you’re not staying overnight, the Carriage House Terrace at Adare Manor is a sunny spot to enjoy a relaxed menu including steak and chips, pizza from the wood fired oven and a delicious cocktail list.

6. Sophie’s Rooftop Restaurant and Bar at The Dean – Cork, Galway, Dublin

Sophie’s is a gorgeous glasshouse bar and restaurant perched atop The Dean, with a stunning rooftop terrace boasting unmissable 360-degree views of Dublin, Cork or Galway from cityscape to countryside. 

7. Nóin at The Twelve, Galway city

Stylish and fun, Nóin is sheltered, heated and brimming with quirkiness and charm. Food is served all day from The Pins Gastrobar  as well as The Twelve’s wine list and cocktail menu until 9pm nightly. And the best bit is… dogs are welcome too!

8. The Courtyard Bar at Carton House, Co Kildare

Serving light bites alongside an impressive wine and cocktail list, this outdoor courtyard terrace area is a wonderful spot for catch-ups with family and friends. 

9. Isabelle’s, Dublin city centre

Merely a stone’s throw from Grafton Street, Isabelle’s is a cracking spot for a bite to eat while shopping, catching up with friends, a night out or any celebration. The outdoor terrace is open all year around and it’s dog-friendly so be sure to invite your pooch-loving pals!
