From mirrorless changing rooms to refreshments and jeans to suit every style and shape, The Confidence Room by Salsa Jeans is a place everyone will want to visit

When you think about shopping for jeans, do you immediately imagine feeling hot, sweaty and deflated as you attempt to tug unyielding fabric around your body?

All the while trying to avoid the unflattering light and mirror angles of most dressing rooms that make you wish you’d just ordered the pair online.

You’re not alone – so much so that Salsa Jeans has opened ‘The Confidence Room’ in Dublin’s city centre that will forever change your perception of a ‘fitting room’.

The space, located on Exchequer Street, is open for the months of May and June and offers customers the opportunity to try on the Portuguese brand’s extensive jeans range in a relaxed and inviting ‘walk-in closet’ environment. Not only that but you’ll be greeted with a little taste of Portugal in the form of Arcádia chocolates or a refreshing cup of Paisagindo tea when you enter.

The many types of jeans to choose from in The Confidence Room

Due to the changes that cause bloating or discomfort in our bodies throughout the month, jeans shopping can leave us feeling bad about our bodies. This consumer experience is all about body positivity and taking the time and space necessary to try on as many styles, colours, fits and shapes as necessary before you make your purchase.

Deputy Editor Niamh Devereux went along to try it last week and left feeling fantastic. “I can feel self-conscious when I’m out shopping, and generally find the fitting room experience, with its unflattering lighting and 360° mirrors, to be pretty hellish.

“But this was a revelation. Having the mirrors initially covered when I tried jeans on made me prioritise how they made me feel first, without worrying about how they looked on me. The team were also the best hype women I’ve ever met, and they made me feel a million dollars. I ended up opting for a pair of Destiny skinny jeans, which pull you in and push you up in all the right places. They’re my new go-to for tee-and-a-blazer days; I’m so impressed with the quality and fit.”

The covered mirrors in the fitting rooms

The Salsa Jeans ‘go-to’ range of everyday jeans are available in a variety of styles to make you feel stylish and confident. The sizes range from a UK 4- 22 and are approx €95 – €110 in price. This personalised shopping experience is by appointment only so if it sounds right up your street, you can click here to make a booking.
