Timelessness has been one of Neptune’s guiding philosophies since the start, preferring to design furniture that will stand the test of time and go on being a valued part of your home for decades – if not generations. But this season in particular, they’ve turned their attention to helping you create a home that’s not only timeless, but also a real reflection of the people who live there. One that’s about true loves, not trends. A place where you can let your creativity run free, and feel liberated to experiment. Here, Neptune stylist Meaghan shares how their new collection – available in store and online now – embraces this idea of a home filled with character.
PALETTE POSSIBILITIES
We introduce a new colour twice a year when we unveil our seasonal collections in spring and autumn, and this time it was the turn of Quince – a fresh, zingy yellow-green. But rather than just focus on Quince, we wanted to show you lots of different ways to make colour in general a part of your home.

So, we created three different ways with Quince – from combining Neptune has wholeheartedly embraced personality-filled decorating with their new spring and summer collection – and the joyful, life-affirming interiors that result it with soft white Shell for a scheme that’ll appeal to those who love calm, pared-back interiors, to pairing it with the equally fresh Aqua Blue or the earthier tones of Saffron and Olive for those that want to be braver with colour. But then, we’ve also shared ways to use red to uplift your interiors. And we’ve experimented with smile-inducing ideas like painting the ceilings of otherwise neutral rooms in comforting pink Old Rose.
CREATIVE COLLABORATIONS
Handmade elements will always add a sense of personality to your home, whether they’re as simple as a child’s drawings stuck up on the fridge or as carefully chosen as an artisan-made object. So with that in mind, we collaborated with a handful of makers on this season’s collection to bring in that crafted touch.
With painter Jane McCall, we designed two lampshades decorated with Bloomsbury Groupinspired birds and blossoming branches. Then with textile designer Beki Bright we made the Odette print – an expressive design that brings to mind the English countryside – and turned it into a pair of cushions. And finally with family-run Marlborough Tiles we’ve produced the Barbury collection, where each colourful tile is hand-shaped and skilfully decorated with layers of crackled glaze.
TAKING IT OUTSIDE
Decorating is something we tend to think of more for inside our homes, but applying techniques and designs traditionally used for interiors to the garden can help create an enticing setting here too. We’ve been taking everything from cushions to rugs to candles outside; embracing decorative
detail with designs like Cheltenham and Harrington which feel every bit as considered as interiors pieces; and bringing colour through furniture (our Lloyd Loom Chatto collection is perfect for this) as much as planting.
Given the fickle nature of the weather, we’re full of ideas for garden rooms too. Come rain or shine, by mixing outdoor and interiors pieces in these rooms (again, painted Chatto is very much at home here), reflecting the colours of the garden, and giving your garden room purpose as a place to express your creativity (we turned ours on a recent photoshoot into a floristry room), you can truly extend the summer season.
