Building a Cleaner, Greener Future

Ireland’s official guide to waste, MyWaste.ie, is promoting circular living through waste prevention and management – whether you’re at home, work or play

How do you correctly dispose of paint? How do I encourage my sports club to be more sustainable? What’s the best way to label the bins in my workplace? These are all great questions and they have great answers – if you know where to look! A super helpful hub of practical advice and information, MyWaste.ie helps you with things like: managing food waste, greener home cleaning, better skip use and managing waste through your sport clubs. There is advice for businesses, too, and access to a circular economy training platform for SMEs, called MODOS.
Moving to a more circular economy and improving recycling rates is not always easy. But now more than ever, people across the country are becoming more interested in making sustainability part of everyday life.

MyWaste offers clear, reliable information on everything from how to dispose of household items as well as where you can bring items like electrical goods or paint. The platform is designed to be your one-stop shop for waste and recycling guidance, helping you cut through confusion and take responsible action through greener choices.
Waste management is only part of the picture and our main goal is moving Ireland toward a circular economy. That means keeping materials in use for as long as possible, reducing waste, and giving nature a chance to regenerate. It also means thinking differently about how we shop, consume, and discard waste. For example, before disposing of something, first consider if it can be repaired and, look out for local repair cafés. And before buying anything new check out community swaps, retail outlets or online marketplaces and you may well find exactly what you need second hand.

It’s not just good for the planet – you’ll save money and will be supporting small businesses in your community too. The next time that you have a waste-related question like what bin to use or where your nearest recycling centre is, simply visit MyWaste.ie or check out @MyWasteIreland on social media.

Together, we can build a cleaner, greener Ireland where nothing goes to waste.

Mywaste.ie is an initiative brought to you by the Regional Waste Management Offices on behalf of the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment.
