Value for families at Farmer Browns
Located in Dublin areas, Bath Avenue, Rathmines, Clonskeagh, and Kilternan, Farmer Browns is welcoming the return of their kids and lunch offers. They are bringing back their free kids main with every adult main offer, making affordable opportunities for eating out as a family a possibility. Adult mains start from €15.95. For lunchtime, their midweek working lunches are back to help workers make the most of their free time during the office day. Try a soup and sandwich combo for only €11, or a sandwich and fries combo for €12. Their tasty lunchtime sandwiches start at €8.50. Meals you can enjoy without going over budget. Pret a Manger opening
The first Pret a Manger store in the Republic of Ireland opened on Dawson Street, Dublin this week. Serving organic coffees and teas, as well as offering milk alternative options for free, it is the first of twenty new shops to open across the country over the next ten years. Pret is serving fresh food daily and will donate any that isn’t sold by the end of each day to Depaul Ireland to avoid food waste.
Healy’s Honey extension deal with Lidl
Cork-based, award-winning beekeepers, Healy’s Honey has won a three million euro deal with Lidl. The family run business set up over forty years ago by Patrick Healy has been partnered with the store since 2010. They focus on creating interesting blends of honey including orange blossom, eucalyptus, clover and acacia, and will be available to purchase in Lidl stores nationwide. Perfect to add a hint of sweetness to your meals.
Top chef pasta dishes at Sprezzatura
Sprezzatura, located in Rathmines and Camden Market, Dublin will be hosting top chefs such as Gráinne Mullins, Daniel Lambart and Ashford Castle’s Hilary Casey from September 1st to raise money for The Simon Community. Each chef will have one week in the Sprezzatura kitchens over the course of two months where they will delight diners with a signature pasta dish. All proceeds from the dish will be donated to The Simon Community. Date night sorted.
Sunday at the Escape
Craving a wood-fired pizza? You’re in luck. The Wicklow Escape has launched a new family-friendly, dining experience, featuring a tasty wood-fired menu. Taking place every Sunday from 1-5pm, until the end of September, Sunday at the Escape has an option for everyone in the family. Booking your spot and your meal is an essential in line with the diner’s sustainability ethos.
New foodie options in Dundrum
Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin have some exciting new additions for foodies. The garden-café that serves innovative plant-based dishes has an early bird offer for shoppers of a main and a glass of wine or mocktail for just €15, Monday to Friday from 3.30pm. Gauchos, a new food truck in Dundrum Town Centre is putting a Mexican spin on the classic hotdog to offer something new to hungry shoppers. Open from 12-9pm every day for the next three months, why not challenge yourself to a food truck delight?
New outdoor dining at The Red Bank
The weather is slowly turning colder, however The Red Bank in Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim has added a new sheltered and heated outdoor dining area where you can still dine al fresco. The Secret Garden is a relaxing space served by its own bar and lit up by a light covered cherry blossom, where diners can unwind and enjoy the last of the summer rays. The perfect spot for a romantic date night.
