Your dog can be your plus-one at the first-ever dog friendly screening as part of Dublin’s film festival

VMDIFF has lots of exciting additions to this year’s festival, and the screening of Marona’s Fantastic Tale is bound to be fun for you and your four-legged-friend.
The film, from Romanian animator Anca Damien, is told through the eyes of a lost puppy, telling the story of a dog who, after an accident, reflects on her owners, adventures and experiences.
The screening will take place at the Odeon Point Village.

Families will also love the Fantastic Flix strand at the festival, aimed at encouraging engagement with young people and cinema. The mix of short films, workshops and screenings of eagerly anticipated contemporary cinema will have lots for kids and adults alike to enjoy. Disney Pixar’s newest fantasy drama Onward, starring Tom Holland and Chris Pratt, is the funny tale of two siblings who set off to discover whether there is any magic left in the world.
Comedy fans may also want to book in for the screening of three newly restored shorts from legendary comedian Charlie Chaplin; The Adventurer, The Immigrant and The Floorwalker.
Taking place from 26 February to 8 March, VMDIFF will screen over 110 feature films, documentaries, short films and music events. Early Bird Season Tickets and highlight events are now available from the website www.diff.ie. Full programme details will be released in the coming weeks.
