A beautiful new Irish Country Magazine has hit shops – here’s why you’re going to want to get your hands on it
The team is so excited to introduce our glorious May/June issue, which is jam-packed with gorgeous content to inspire you for the summer. Whether it’s our sunshine recipes, new book launches, al fresco décor ideas or inspiring interviews with the likes of Irish band Pillow Queens, there are countless reads to #InformInspireIndulge. Here are just five reasons to pick this edition up!
Our fabulous cover star, Sharon Shannon
The Irish musician has been performing music since she was a little girl – she first toured the United States at just 14. Sharon chats to Klara Heron about her fascinating music career of four decades, and she gives an insight into her animal-filled home life, too. For the cover shoot, we travelled to Sharon’s homeplace, Co Clare, on what was a wet and blustery day; there was a yellow weather warning, in fact! But the weather didn’t dampen our spirits, and we captured some magic of the beaming record-breaking artist.
The ultimate Irish summer gig guide
Looking for festivals, concerts, exhibitions and theatre for the summer months? Well, team ICM has sorted you out. We’ve detailed the events going on all over the country over the next few months, and we can guarantee you’ll be marking your diary, and sending suggestions around your Whatsapp groups, stat!
Sailing to Spain
We have an incredible giveaway thanks to Brittany Ferries: the lucky winner (plus a guest, or with a family of four) will travel to Bilbao from Rosslare on its new cruise-ferry Salamanca. Niamh Devereux made the voyage recently, and went on a whistle-stop tour of the Basque Country, also visiting San Sebastian and Rioja; read all about her Northern Spain adventure and get ideas for your own trip. Of course, we also have plenty of ideas for travelling throughout Ireland.
Shop vintage like a pro
Want to go vintage shopping but not sure where to start? Fashion stylist Anne O’Shea has a Vintage Shopping 101 in this issue, combining expert tips from buyers to red flags to look out for, to ensure you end up with oldies but goodies.
The Invisible Struggle
Our series on the health conditions causing women to suffer in silence continues, this time focusing on perimenopause. What exactly is it? What are the symptoms? What needs to change in terms of Ireland’s workplaces and healthcare services? We report.
