Recreate Jessie Buckley’s Golden Globes makeup look at home

Jessie Buckley did the nation proud as she scooped up a Golden Globe for her performance as Agnes Shakespeare in Chloe Zahao’s Hamnet. Her soft, elegant makeup look also stole the show as she gave her acceptance speech.

The Best Actress win is huge for Jessie, as she said during her winning speech: “This is not a normal feeling or situation to be in”. There is now even more excitement that Jessie will win an Oscar for the performance, which would mark her as the second Irish actress to win an Academy Award and the fifth Irish actor to take home the famous gold statuette. She will sit alongside Barry Fitzgerald, Brenda Fricker, Daniel Day Lewis and Cillian Murphy.

Acting and awards aside, many people are also talking about Jessie’s incredible look on the night. She wore a Dior blue satin dress by fellow Irish talent Johnathan Anderson, styled by Danielle Goldberg. Her cropped pixie cut was a nod to classic Hollywood glamour taking inspiration from the likes of Grace Kelly and Natalie Portman.

Her makeup stole the show with a refined and soft base, eyes and lips, making Jessie look radiant from within. The brains behind the look is makeup artist to the stars, Nina Park, who said that her secret to soft glamour is sheer but buildable layers. Partnering with Chanel Beauty to create the look, she explains her inspiration and technique:

“I was inspired to create a look that centered around healthy skin: sheer layers, a natural flush, and a touch of luminosity for a polished, yet effortless finish.”

Continuing, she explains how she used Chanel Beauty products to create the look. “I applied CHANEL N°1 de CHANEL Lip and Cheek Balm in Healthy Pink under CHANEL Les Beiges Water-Fresh Tint in Medium to create a natural, within-the-skin flush. Then, I applied CHANEL Joues Contraste Powder Blush in Rose Bronze to add depth and softly layer the color.”
