Stores being closed hasn’t stopped us shopping, although our habits when it comes to what we’re buying have changed. Here’s what fashion items everyone seems to be looking for online
Even though stores are closed right now, we’re still turning to online shopping to purchase items that fit into our new normal, that is, staying home, social distancing and being in quarantine because of Covid-19. Where once we might have bought a ‘going out’ outfit for a special occasion, we’re now putting more practical items into our shopping carts.
We asked friends and family of team Irish Country Magazine what they’ve been buying recently, and here’s what everyone said:
Underwear
Lots of us have been stocking up on knickers, bras and socks during quarantine. It could be down to people doing wardrobe clear outs, or because lots of retailers have special offers on right now, like the M&S.
Gym gear
Another item that doesn’t require going out to be useful – lots of us are buying gym gear to workout at home or try a new workout such as running.
Sandals
Having nowhere to go doesn’t mean we don’t want pretty footwear to lounge around the garden. With the nice weather we’ve been enjoying, shoppers are ready to pack away the heavy boots from winter and embrace summer shoes.
Summer dresses
As we said, it might only be for the back garden but the sunshine these past two weeks has encouraged us to put a few floaty dresses in our online baskets. Think comfortable cotton and light linen – for more on linen, see the May|June issue of Irish Country Magazine.
Comfortable basics
Last but not least, the one thing everyone is stocking up on is – you guessed it – lounge wear. With lots of sales online right now, shop around, look for items that will last and support Irish where you can.
