Over 75 new Irish-made products will go on sale nationwide as part of an Aldi Specialbuys event, kicking off this Sunday, 31st May for two weeks

Saturday Pizzas Pepperoni (€4.99)

One thing team Irish Country Magazine has been even more aware of since the Covid-19 restrictions started is supporting Irish producers and makers as much as we can, and selecting Irish products during the grocery shop is one of the easiest (and tastiest!) ways to do that. This weekend, Aldi is launching an initiative that is all about supporting Irish food producers. Over 75 new products will be on sale from this Sunday 31st May for two weeks in Aldi stores nationwide, as part of the Grow with Aldi development programme.

A diverse range of new products have been selected from 45 suppliers, including lots of tasty Irish cheese, artisan chocolate, frozen pizzas and more. Now in it’s third year, the Grow with Aldi scheme developed in partnership with Bord Bia, is all about supporting small and medium Irish suppliers.

Five of the suppliers will then be given a further opportunity, winning a contract for their product to be sold in Aldi’s 142 Irish stores year-round. Last year, these brilliant producers won a listing: All About Kombucha, Funky Monkey Curry Mix and Salt & Chilli Mix, Walls Honest Chips, Ballyvourney Black and White Pudding , Pizzado Fresh Pizza Bases, and Mama Bear’s Low Sugar Ketchup.

Keep an eye out in stores for the new range, which includes lots really innovative products such as meat-free black and white pudding, gluten free baking mixes, vegan chocolate, cook-in sauces, farmhouse cheese and lots more.
