Five day dresses that are perfect for winter

With these dresses, all you have to do is add a pair of boots and some statement jewellery and you’re sorted

A decent dress that you can take from the day to night is worth its weight in gold when it comes to the busy winter months. Here are some heroes that will work hard in your wardrobe.

Monsoon: Alana Cotton Midi Dress – €108

If you love the thought of a denim dress but don’t enjoy restrictive nature of the fabric, this is a great alternative. Described as ‘denim that doesn’t dig’, it’s made with organic cotton for a relaxed feel but still retains an elegant structure thanks to the collar and cuffed sleeves.

NAYA: Sleeveless Dress with Pocket Detail – €168

This is a classic style of midi dress with a full skirt and round neck. The fact that it’s sleeveless makes it perfect for layering with a crisp white shirt and heeled boots for the office or a colourful polo neck and flats for a more relaxed occasion.

Helen McAlinden: Elora Cashmere Dress – €375

Feel chic and comfortable in this beautiful dress that is a sensational outfit all by itself. With its roll neckline, long sleeves with fitted cuffs and ultra soft material, it is an item you’ll wear forever.

Nobody’s Child: Cord V-Neck Mini – €70

With a flattering V-neckline and cool shift silhouette, this corduroy mini dress is ideal for pairing with tights, boots and a polo neck for a day at the office or layering under a fluffy knit for a totally different look.

Oxendales: Jersey Collared Midi Dress – €52.50

Simple, elegant and fantastic for dressing up or down depending on the occasion, this dress has a relaxed fit that is ideal for busy winter days. As well as that, the neutral tone works brilliantly with other colours meaning you’ll reach for it time and time again.
