Events happening in Ireland this long weekend

Make the most of a bank holiday weekend with these fun and family-friendly events happening around the country this Easter weekend.

If you’re looking for events to pop in your calendar this weekend, here are some events happening up and down the country this bank holiday weekend.

Dublin

Teidí Tours – If your little one (or you) is a fan of sport and teddy bears, you’re in for a treat at Croke Park this bank holiday weekend. Running until 6 April, Teidí Tours offers a unique teddy-making experience. Alongside a tour of the stadium both inside and out, you can also choose, stuff and dress your own teddy bear to bring home. For more information and tickets, check out here.

Easter at National Museum of Ireland – You can find a variety of activities and events across Dublin’s city centre this weekend from guided tours on the Easter Rising and Revolutionary Women to family-friendly entertainment in Collins Barracks. Funderland – A crowd pleaser for kids and adults alike, Cork’s Funderland is back at Centre Park Road for the Easter holidays. Running until 12 April, the outdoor events includes rollercoasters and rides along with entertainment and interactive stalls for younger children. Galway

Easter Festival at Slieve Aughty – If you’re in the Galway area and are after a mix of activities, the Easter Festival at Slieve Aughty Centre is offering lots of outdoor activities to get involved in like an Enchanted Forest trail, pony rides, a petting zoo and face painting. Running until 12 April, tickets and more information are available here.

Kildare

Alice’s Easter Wonderland at the Irish National Stud – From 3-6 April Alice’s Easter Wonderland will take over the Irish National Stud. Expect arts and crafts, outdoor fun including an Easter Egg hunt and an obstacle course. The Mad Hatter will also be in attendance along with other Alice in Wonderland characters. Kilkenny

Wonka in Jurassic Easter Experience at Jurassic Newpark – Experience Easter as you never have before. This family-friendly attraction is a unique prehistoric journey offering a dino-trail where you’ll encounter 17 dinosaur replicas. Along with that, there will also be a petting zoo, and a specific Willy Wonka experience running until 12 April where Wonka meets the dinosaurs. With it you can experince an Easter Wonka train, a scavenger hunt to find golden tickets and Easter egg decorating. Find more information here.

Meath

Easter at Navan Adventure Centre – This Easter weekend get involved in all the outdoor activities at Navan Adventure Centre from mini golf to an Easter egg hunt. Find more information here.

Tipperary

Easter at Marlhill Open Farm – With both indoor and outdoor play areas, Marlhill Open Farm is a sure-fire spot to enjoy the Easter break. With a petting zoo and a visit from the Easter Bunny on Easter Sunday, you can find more information here

Mayo

Easter at Westport Adventure – If you and your family are the adventurous type, there’s a four-day Easter Kids Club at Westport Adventure which offers guided outdoor activities including climbing towers and zip lines. If you’re looking to chill out while the kids explore, Gracy’s Pizzeria on site serves wood-fired pizza and a cosy place to rest. Find out more here.

Donegal

Easter at Castle Adventure Open Farm – A great family day out, Castle Adventure Open Farm is getting an Easter makeover this bank holiday weekend with an Easter trail which includes solving riddles and following clues to win a chocolate egg and an appearance from the Easter Bunny.
