Newly opened Anthropologie Belfast is inviting three local makers to showcase this weekend
Anthropologie opened its doors on Arthur Street in Belfast last weekend, the very first of its stores on the island of Ireland, to much excitement. Known for stocking beautiful and unique collections in home, fashion and accessories, from all over the world, as well as its epic in-store art installations, it’s a welcome addition to Belfast’s shopping scene.
For its launch weekend, three local makers will showcase their products and processes at very special workshops. On Friday 30 August, from 1pm to 6pm, the award- winning Enniskillen gin-maker, Boat Yard Distillery, will be hosting a pop up bar serving local organic Gin and Tonics.
On Saturday, (from 12pm to 2pm and 3pm to 5pm) ceramicist Rebecca Killen will host a drop-in workshop, where customers can create a unique porcelain name tag. And on Sunday 1 September, there will a floral crown and hair accessories workshop with acclaimed Belfast-based florist, Floral Earth.
This is the brand’s 13th UK store, and its latest in Europe – with recent openings in Barcelona, Cheltenham and two stores due to open in Paris later this year. For the Belfast store, the visual team created an installation of hand-crafted floating ginkgo leaves. The display took 400 hours to create and features over 3,000 individually treated leaves in various materials and colours.
