Singer Una Healy shares her beauty must-haves as she becomes the face of affordable Swedish brand

Since moving back to Ireland and starting her solo pop career,  Una Healy has gone on to do many things. A radio show, presenting, making a solo album, raising her two children and now she has just became the new face of IsaDora cosmetics. We caught up with the singer before the launch to talk about all things makeup, her must-have products and staycations she’s planning this summer.

Her love of makeup began as a young child and even before The Saturdays when she was doing solo gigs, she loved sitting down in front of the mirror and putting on makeup. “Things have changed now that I’ve got kids, so I can’t spend as much time doing my makeup, but I’ve learned how to do it quickly.”

Una likes a glowy look and products that don’t make her look caked, especially in summer.

“There are probably five or six products that I always absolutely have to wear, but at the same time, you don’t look like you’re wearing a lot of makeup, I like a fresh dewy look.” Una said that she also can’t go without a lip gloss in her handbag.

“Even when the matte lip look came in, you would still still see me with my glossy lips, I didn’t care because personally, even though it maybe wasn’t on trend, I just always loved that little bit of sparkle on my lips.

IsaDora is a Swedish brand that believes in empowering everyone to embrace their unique beauty. Created in the 1980s their products are fragrance free, cruelty free and clinically tested which makes them perfect for sensitive skin. Una mentioned that she’s loved the brand for years because “they’re such an ethical brand and always have been, the products are also great quality and affordable.”

Here’s some key products she loves to wear, starting with a glowing primer with SPF and the Skin Beauty foundation. “I think for everyday use the skin beauty foundation is gorgeous, I get complimented on it so much and I’m always asked, what foundation are you using?”

For brows she uses the sculpt and brow pen as she confessed she over plucked during the nineties and now needs to fill them in more.

For eyes  Una uses the big, bold mascara and the trio face sculpt bronzer and pops that into her handbag along with the light-up concealer that brightens the under eyes, and a moistursing lip gloss that’s great for dry lips. For a daytime look, she goes with the twist-up gloss in shade 16 (milk and chocolate) and for night time she loves to  switch between a bold red or pink statement lip.

Summer plans

So, where is Una planning a staycation this summer? “I’m looking forward to exploring all along the coast a bit more, I love visiting the sea and little villages around it.” As she came back to Ireland last summer from the UK, she says she loves a good night out and can’t wait to go to restaurants and have a lovely meal by the sea in Ireland. As a child she used to go down to Kerry a lot and now she has Cork, Galway, and Clare on her list. “I think we, as a nation, have realised how beautiful our country is, there’s so many amazing beaches, I just want to go to them all.”
