Are you looking to refresh your home furnishings, considering a kitchen update or need inspiration on creating a home office with style as well as purpose? Then don’t miss a visit to Ireland’s largest home exhibition – the permanent tsb Ideal Home Show. Taking place in the RDS from Friday to Sunday 20-22 October, Ireland’s leading experts, designers and suppliers will be on hand to share advice and insights.
The DFS Interiors Inspiration Centre
What’s your thing? Searching for exciting interiors ideas? Then visit the DFS Interiors Inspiration Centre to discover your ‘thing!’ Here, four Irish creatives have drawn inspiration from DFS’s campaign, ‘What’s your thing?’ to create four very different roomsets, packed full of personality, where you can browse for inspiration.
Athlone designer Susan McGowan, of interior architecture and design studio Ashen & Cloud, is Creative Director for the DFS Interiors Inspiration Centre at the permanent tsb Ideal Home Show. A busy mum of three, Susan’s thing is helping people create family-friendly homes that they really love. She has worked with DFS and the three other creatives to inspire visitors and show how they’ve brought their ‘thing’ to life at the DFS Interiors Inspiration Centre.
Paul Kinsella (@lifeatno2) of RTE’s Relove My Space reveals his love of pink in his roomset, showcasing DFS’s stunning Enchanted range in watermelon and blush shades. Through her roomset, interiors stylist Helen Wright (@insidenumbersixteen) will show you how to create a calm oasis amidst family chaos. Caoimhe McGinley (@thebighillhouse) fell in love with the new Joules Thornton bedroom range from DFS and her roomset is a masterclass in merging country with contemporary!
The DFS Interiors Theatre
The DFS Interiors Theatre is the jewel in the crown, and journalist and sustainability advocate Jo Linehan will join Ireland’s leading designers and creatives to share ideas and talk about the latest trends in décor in panel discussions taking place over the course of the weekend. Expect a double dose of expert insights when Patricia Power, quantity surveyor from Room to Improve, takes to the couch with architect Denise O’Connor of Optimise Design. Architect and Home of the Year’s Hugh Wallace will chat with David Flannery of Electric Ireland Superhomes about future-proofing our homes, plus autumn tablescapes with Gracie Cahill, furniture upcycling with Joanne Condon, mood lighting, sleep sanctuaries and more!
Throughout the weekend, DFS and their ‘thingsters’ will help visitors find their own ‘thing’, whatever their taste might be. In this autumn-inspired space, visitors can learn about mood-lifting colour palettes, sustainable décor, sanctuary creation, home extensions, financing, new home builds, and more.
The Dulux Heritage Interior Design Hub
Bold beautiful colours aren’t just for soft furnishings – if you yearn to inject excitement into your home, visit the Dulux Heritage Interior Design Hub where leading interior designers, Ruth Kennelly of RK Designs and Ciara Drennan of Drennan Interiors, will create stunning living rooms featuring autumn’s atmospheric shades and tones.
