The eatery also took home the top prize for the ‘Best in Munster’ category
If you live in Limerick, you’re in luck because it has just become home to a double award-winning restaurant! Sambros in Limerick was named ‘Best of Munster’ and ‘Best of Ireland’ at the ninth annual Just Eat Awards.
The event celebrates Ireland’s favourite restaurants and takeaways and was hosted by TV presenter and Irish Country Magazine columnist, Muireann O’Connell, at Dublin’s iconic Mansion House.
A total of 150 restaurants were nominated under 16 categories, with shortlisted representatives from all over the country in attendance at the glamorous black-tie event.
The ceremony saw an array of restaurants commended for their hard work and dedication to delivering the highest standard of service and food to its customers.
Over 35,000 votes were cast by the public for local and independent takeaways across Ireland in recent weeks, giving customers across the country the opportunity to support their favourite local restaurant.
New to this year’s award categories is the Sustainability Award which we love to see. The title recognises restaurants who are continuously driving environmentally friendly initiatives and working towards a more sustainable future for our planet. Camile Thai took home the top accolade in this new category for discovering innovative ways to promote sustainable practices in their restaurants.
Firehouse Pizza, Ballymun took home the Best Pizza award for the second year running as well as being named the Best of Leinster Award – another double whammy!
