The Kids category was one of three new categories introduced at last year’s Irish Made Awards by Irish Country Magazine, and one of the most popular!
Since the Irish Made Awards began in 2017, we have seen amazing businesses creating clothing, skincare, gifts and more for children. We have featured many impressive companies and makers within the pages of Irish Country Magazine over the years. We quickly realised that these products deserved a category of their own. We are delighted to celebrate makers that are creating special keepsakes and practical buys with families in mind, with the return of the Kids category.

We are thrilled to welcome back Johnny Magory to sponsor the category for the second year running. Johnny Magory Business is an energetic, creative business which has a story to tell. Founder Emma-Jane is one of Ireland’s leading children’s books authors and the award-winning CEO of Johnny Magory Publishing: “The Irish Made Awards supporting Irish businesses are important to me, because not only does it align with my personal values, it also aligns with the company’s values in supporting Irish businesses and buying Irish,” she says.
Johnny Magory’s purpose is to get kids outside exploring & connecting with nature and learning about Irish heritage & wildlife (but through lots of craic and grá!) Each story educates children on different areas of Irish heritage, wildlife and culture.
Meet the past Kids winners of the Irish Made Awards:
In 2022, the first year of a stand alone Kids category, we had amazing finalists on the shortlist.

Fiadh and Finn: The 2022 Kids category winner was Fiadh and Finn. Illustrator Tanya Ryan started creating fine art keepsakes in Co Kildare two years ago, and has sent designs to clients all over the world. The idea for the brand began when she and her daughters saw two wild rabbits and made up stories about them. Starting with watercolour and ink illustrations, each original artwork is carefully reproduced and printed in pigment inks on fine art, 100% cotton textured card. Each component, from frames to gift cards, is considered in terms of sustainability.

The Wonky Woolins: Our 2022 runner-up was The Wonky Woolins, a unique collection of hand crafted soft toys made to be cherished forever. Chloe Gardiner was inspired by her Granny’s collection of wonky knitted toys that had been passed through my family for generations.
