This resource celebrates 100 examples of the best Irish writing of the last decade, with lots of interviews, articles and more

A new website, ContemporaryIrishWriting.ie features books written in both English and Irish, ranging from fiction and poetry to memoir, young adult fiction and children’s literature.

There are 100 entries from modern Irish writers dating back to 2009, with lots of resources, links to reviews and interviews. The platform facilitates discussion and discovery of the most exciting and vital writing in Ireland in recent years.

Authors featured include Patrick Freyne, Emilie Pine, Marian Keyes, Doireann Ní Ghríofa, Oein DeBhairduin, Sinéad Gleeson, Anna Burns and Emma Dabiri, and dozens more.

You can filter by subject, from children’s writing, poetry. essays, Irish language, and short stories for example.

This website is a brilliant way to make writing across different subjects more accessible to all, delivering lots of information and resources for those who want to discover more, learn from the great Irish writers of the modern day, or simply want to know what all the fuss is about when it comes to writers in Ireland.

This is a lovely website to browse through before stocking up on new reads, or to delve deeper into the world of your favourite writers.
