Lidl’s Kickstart programme will introduce 68 food and drinks by Irish makers. Here’s what not to miss
We love it when Irish supermarkets get behind local artisans, and this year’s Kickstart campaign by Lidl includes a mouthwatering array of items for you to pop in your shopping trolley.
The Kickstart programme, backed by Bord Bia and now in its fourth year, is a way for small and medium local businesses to develop their brand, with time on shelf in Lidl stores nationwide.
Available from 30 July, here are some of the delicious Irish brands to discover at Lidl:
Harvest Moon vegan hummus selection
Westport-based Harvest Moon has been part of the programme since 2017, and has been able to invest in new machinery to increase capacity as a result. Try the popular Sweet Potato Vegan Hummus and Vegan Pate (€4.99), and discover the new unique products such as Spicy Vegan Hummus, Honey & Ginger Hummus Dressing and Red Pepper Soup.
Holo Kombucha
Holo Kombucha is a new addition to the Kickstart offering, based in Co Cork. Kombucha, which is rich in probiotics, is known for having multiple health benefits including strengthening the immune system and helping to improve gut health, the perfect addition to your evening routine before the colder autumn weather hits. Their products are certified organic, raw, non-GMO, vegan and of course, delicious. Holo Kombucha will be supplying Lidl with two flavours of kombucha; Original and Mango & Pineapple.
Ballykilcavan Brewing
A family run business based in Stradbally, Co. Laois, Ballykilcavan Brewing source their brewing water from their own well, which was specially divined in the 18th century farmyard just outside the brewery building. Lidl will be stocking their refreshing Red Ale and Bawn Pale Ale.
Galway Roast – Ground Coffee
Starting out as a café, Galway Roast has grown into a unique company that roasts its own coffee beans to ensure customers receive the freshest and most distinctive tasting coffee possible. You can pick up their ground coffee for just €4.49.
