Your guide to healthy, radiant skin with Clarins

Inside the September|October issue of Irish Country Magazine you’ll find our beauty shoot with Clarins.

As the Autumn season approaches, Clarins is all about nurturing your skin’s natural radiance, pairing powerful skincare with luminous makeup. At the heart of the beauty routine is the iconic Double Serum franchise, designed to help skin look smoother, brighter and beautifully revitalised.

Clarins National Trainer, Louise Sheehan takes us through the hero skincare and makeup products she used to create model Rana’s effortlessly radiant look, sharing her tips and tricks for creating the glow at home.

Gorgeous, glowy skin was essential to this look – how did you achieve this?

“The secret was to use light exfoliation beforehand, so I started with a thin layer of the Clarins Beauty Flash Peel (€47) down the centre of the T-zone and just onto the cheeks. I wanted the skin to look super hydrated, bouncy and plump but not overly moisturised – if you use something too moisturising, then when you put makeup on top, it will just slip and slide and separate. It’s all about using small amounts and letting this sink in between each step.

Double Serum Eye – Anti-Ageing Serum

Next, I went in with the Double Serum Eye – Anti-Ageing Serum (€72) around the eyes and Double Serum (€145) on the rest of the face. I finished with the Hydra-Essentiel Emulsion (€48) and the new Extra-Firming Neck & Decollete cream (€78). Thin layers were the theme of this look! Double Serum Foundation (€55) completed the look with medium-to-full coverage and a luminous satin finish.”

Blush blindness is a real problem! What’s the key to the perfect pinky flush like Rana’s here?

“To give a little bit more of a glowy, natural look, I mixed together the new Clarins Skin Illusion All-In-One Concealer in shade 20 (€35) with the colour corrector SOS Primer Pink (€38). A good tip is to use a lip stain as a base on your cheeks. It looks very natural – like you just went for a nice healthy walk – and bounces the light really nicely, even if you put a small amount of powder over it.

Water Lip Stain in Nude Water

Here, I used the Water Lip Stain in Nude Water (€28) on Rana’s cheeks to give a bit of a stain without being too heavy. I went over that with the Joli Blush in shade 02 or Cheeky Pink (€36). On her lips, we used Water Lip Stain in Violet Water for some colour with Joli Rouge Lipstick in Dahlia Red (€32) and Mocha Nude over it.”
