Rosehip oil is a favourite of many celebrities and these are five benefits of using the revitalising product

The Royal Duchess of Cambridge and model Miranda Kerr are two famous faces who adore rosehip oil and they use it in their daily beauty routine. According to Dr. Axe, a doctor of chiropractic, certified doctor of natural medicine and clinical nutritionist, rosehips were a remedy used by the ancient Egyptians, Mayans and Native Americans because of their amazing healing properties.

Rosehip oil is packed with numerous necessities that are needed to help us achieve gorgeous glowing skin. This includes a range of vitamins such as A, C and E, antioxidants and essential fatty acids that are known to correct dark spots and hydrate dry, itchy skin, while also helping to reduce the appearance of scars and fine lines that are embedded in our skin.

Here are five benefits of using rosehip oil:

Fading scars

New Zealand skincare brand Trilogy conducted a survey with 10 subjects between the ages of 20 and 60 to discover the benefits of using rosehip oil. 41% saw an improvement in the colour of scars, 27% saw an improvement in the appearance of scars and 26% recognised an improvement in the visible area of scars. Evens skin tone

A number of things can cause uneven skin tone including hormonal changes and skin damage, which are two of the most common causes of hyperpigmentation. Rosehip oil is rich in vitamin A which contains nutritional compounds such as retinoids, known for reducing hyperpigmentation. Uneven skin tone can affect your self-confidence and if you have tried numerous methods but have not achieved your desired results, it may be worth trying rosehip oil which can be applied onto your face.

Ageing

If you want a product that will help to keep your skin looking young and fresh, rosehip oil is worth trying as it is believed to be a great anti-aging formula. This is because of its high antioxidant content and the oil’s ability to penetrate into deeper layers of the skin where it can improve moisture levels and reduce visible signs of aging, according to Dr. Axe. He explains that as we get older collagen production decreases but due to the high vitamin C content of rosehips, the oil can help to activate and improve collagen production in the skin. It can also help your skin to regain elasticity.

Brightening skin

If your skin looks dull rosehip oil can help you to get that desired flawless glow that you crave making you feel good inside and out. Rosehip oil can help to tighten your pores and can create a natural glow because it is high in vitamins A and C, both are vital for skin health.

Hydrates

If you suffer from dry skin and if no moisture seems to help, rosehip oil could be the dream product for you. Rosehip oil contains Vitamin E, and a lot of it, this particular vitamin is an anti-inflammatory antioxidant that has the ability to hydrate dry and sensitive skin, making rosehip oil the perfect moisturising choice.
