Missing the races? Not to worry – Punchestown is throwing a virtual Best Dressed competition next week, plus more great competitions to enter that are raising awareness for good causes

We’re into week seven of quarantine life due to the Covid-19 crisis, and some days it can feel a bit like Groundhog Day. Thankfully, there are great initiatives encouraging people to get creative, have some fun and raise money or awareness for a great cause while we’re at it. Here are three brilliant campaigns that the whole family can get involved in:

Punchestown Virtual Fillies Day

The much-loved racing weekend is sadly cancelled, but organisers are encouraging us to get dressed up this Friday, May 1st, to be with a chance of winning amazing prizes worth almost €5,500.

“Virtual racegoers can swap the racetrack for their kitchen, garden, sitting room, bedroom or garden shed!  We know it’s not quite the same, but we are all in this together! So, stay safe, stay home and have some fun with fashion!” There are three categories to enter: Best Fab Filly, Best Fine Fella and Best Cool Couple.

Punchestown is asking all entrants to donate €4 to The Jack and Jill Children Foundation by Texting WECARE to 50300. Screenshot your donation and post a picture of it along with your most stylish outfit on social media by using #punchestownfillies day and don’t forget to tag @punchestownraces.

Join the Fight with Benetti Menswear

The amazing team at Benetti Menswear have launched an incredible initiative to support people working on the frontline. They’ve already donated €10,000 and are asking people to join them by donating towards their €20,000 goal. They’ve also opened up an incredible Benetti giveaway worth €2,000.

“We aim to raise funds to provide practical supports, such as essential  PPE (Protective Personal Equipment) and other resources to keep our healthcare heroes safe as they care for us.   As part of our contribution to the fight against Covid19, we have now set up our own GoFundMe page, the first payment of €10,000 Benetti Menswear will donate. Following this we are asking you to join us in support with a small donation.  All donations made will go towards the HEROES AID fund, supporting the Front Line Heroes of the battle against COVID-19.”

Donate and win your wedding package from Benetti! For all who donate, an incredible prize is up for grabs:

  • 1st Prize _ Wedding Package worth €1,250
  • 2nd Prize _ Gift Voucher worth €500
  • 3rd Prize _ Gift Voucher worth €250

To enter, simply share a screen shot of your donation on social media and tag three friends. Take a look at their fabulous menswear collection here to see what this fabulous prize could get you, benetti.ie.

Get creative with the kids and win a Nintendo Switch

Recycling initiative Every Can Counts, is running a national competition for kids (and big kids!) to design their own can and drink and be in with the chance to win a Nintendo Switch. Aiming to raise awareness of recycling, the competition could be used as a fun home-schooling activity during lockdown.

“We’re asking you all to get creative and design your own drink cans using our Blank CANvas template.  We want to see eye-catching colourful designs, and if they’re recycling-themed then that’s even better! The Every Can Counts team will be picking their favourite designs and giving out some great prizes.  The creator of the winning design will receive a Nintendo Switch, and 3 runners up will be given the choice between an Amazon Fire tablet and an Instant Camera!”

We’ve been impressed by all of the amazing entries we’ve received to our Blank CANvas #competition so far!😍

Look at these CAN-tastic examples and get inspired to submit your own entry for a chance to win a #NintendoSwitch 🎮
