Take a peek inside Irish Country Magazine’s confidence-boosting May|June issue

The May|June issue is here, with great reads, bright ideas, and all the inspiration you need to help you boost your confidence and start the summer off on the right note. Here are just five of many reasons to pick it up!

Our cover star Siobhán McSweeney

Thanks to her iconic role in Derry Girls, the Cork actress has embedded herself as one of Ireland’s most compelling actors and exports. Now based in London, starring in shows like Extraordinary and The Great Pottery Throw Down, she wears Irish design couture pieces for our cover shoot in her adopted hometown. Siobhán opens up to Niamh Devereux about how she hankers to tell stories and showcase the women we don’t always get to see.

Inspiring interviews

Psychologist Dr Katriona O’Sullivan speaks to Elle Gordon about the ripple effect that her best-selling memoir Poor continues to have, the complexities of poverty, and how from a childhood of chaos, abuse, and neglect she managed to change her own story. And reminds us that if as a society we made a collective effort to do more, there could be more stories like hers.

The Invisible Struggle

It is estimated that one in three women deal with incontinence at some point in their lives. Urinary incontinence (UI) is not something you need to accept as part of your life. Although it is common, it is not a normal part of ageing. In our award-nominated series, we shine a light on this health condition and what you can do about it. Irish Made Awards 2024

Now in their eighth year, the annual awards by Irish Country Magazine celebrate the very best homegrown products on the island of Ireland. If you are making and producing a product on the island of Ireland, we want to hear from you! Whether you’re a sole trader or an SME exporting internationally, and whether you’re in year one or year 100 of business, you are welcome to enter. If not, spread the word; encourage your favourite Irish makers to put themselves forward or share the details within your community. Check out the new issue for the full details, and click here to enter.

Self affirming retreats

Ireland has the most incredible retreats designed to help you press the reset button and feel your very best. From meditative sound baths, to coaching from experts, Megan Fox has uncovered the Irish getaways that will leave you feeling refreshed and with a newfound sense of self without having to go too far.
