It’s time to start planning that 2023 wardrobe. Here are seven trends we predict will be big in the New Year.
What are you wearing next year? If you’re wondering what the biggest trends of 2023 will be, then you have come to the right place. From the return of styles we thought would never come back to easy to recreate looks at home, there is something for everyone on this list of five fashion trends we’re predicting for the New Year.
Gothic Glamour
Versace were very clear in their Spring Summer 2023 show that goth is back. Mixing it up this year with lace maxi dresses is the easiest way to take part in the trend to get that Wednesday glam everybody’s talking about.

Denim
If hearing ‘denim on denim’ is a blast from the past for you, you either loved or hated the trend in the late 80s and 90s. It is set to return in 2023 so feel free to dig through your wardrobe to find that old denim jacket and jeans you knew would come back in style one day. Long denim skirts are also predicted to make a return, as we move into the late noughties trends.

Cut-outs
You may have seen a few cut-out dresses in shop windows recently. They are predicted to stay and be incorporated into tops and pants too. This is one trend that can be easily DIY’d at home.

Eyelet lace
Being popular in the Victorian era and then again in the 70s and 90s, eyelet lace is set to return as we take inspiration from both of these decades. Referring back to the ‘cottage core’ and ‘coastal grandmother’ aesthetic that blew up across social media in the summer of 2022, this design is a natural progression from both of these styles.

Slouchy Utility
If you thought this might be the year of the return of skinny jeans, you will unfortunately have to be patient for a little longer. In fact, trousers have gone from loose to baggy to now slouchy cargos that match the utility aesthetic that rose in popularity on Instagram in 2022.

Roaring 20s
Whether its fringe or feathers, that Roaring 20s aesthetic is very much in for 2023. As the world is back up and running, so too is our desire to be seen. Incorporating some flapper chic into your wardrobe this year is a sure way to keep things fun. Elegant handkerchief hems are set to be the finish of choice this year on dresses and tops.

Capri pants
Introduced by Sonia de Leonard in 1948 after her full length pants kept getting wet while walking on the beach, Capri pants were worn by style icons such as Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe and Brigitte Bardot throughout the 50s. This versatile trouser is easy to style and adds a touch of retro chic to any look.
