A County Wicklow resident, Claire Byrne shared with us her favourite Irish spots while shooting her cover for the July|August Issue of Irish Country Magazine.
Favourite staycation spot in Ireland?
It has to be Killarney – I’ve always had a great time anytime I’ve been there. The National Park is incredible. I think Killarney can be one of those spots that can be overlooked but it’s one of the most beautiful places in Ireland to visit.

Favourite swimming spot?
It has to be anywhere in Bray in County Wicklow. I have to admit that I find it really hard to get past the freezing cold – getting into the water bit. But I do know that there is joy waiting on the other side that you eventually reach!
Favourite Irish hotel?
If we’re talking about pure luxury, it’s Cashel Palace Hotel in Tipperary.

Favourite irish pub?
The Harbour Bar in Bray.
Favourite Irish restaurant?
I don’t think you can beat Nevin Macguire’s MacNean House & Restaurant in County Cavan, It’s one of those really special places in Ireland.
