We’ve likely all experienced uncomfortable, ill-fitting leggings that just never feel right. Lately, there’s been a boom in more comfortable, practical, and flattering workout clothes – and not just because of remote working! Below you’ll find some incredible activewear companies, all Irish-owned, and run by some inspirational women. Hit the gym, a trail, or just your couch, and look and feel great doing it.

Finalbend

Finalbend is the brainchild of Emma Coffey, a commerce student and entrepreneur. Set up in 2018 in Cork, the company has been growing exponentially since. Popular app TikTok proved a hugely useful tool for spreading the word about the brand’s activewear and loungewear. What’s more, the leggings are comfy, size-inclusive, and available in an array of colours.

I-Spy

Mother-daughter duo Louise and Paulette Egan founded I-Spy. Paulette had seen many ill-fitting leggings in her time as a yoga teacher, and Louise was interested in setting up a business in Transition Year. Flash forward to today, and the pair own and run I-Spy, an activewear company specialising in leggings that won’t show the whole gym today’s underwear. Whether you’re running or stretching, the clothing is comfortable and looks great on.

Peachylean

Sharon Keegan created Peachylean after suffering postnatal depression and going back to university. She felt inspired by how much exercise had helped her, and compelled to help women who may be struggling. The clothing is designed to support women, and also let them feel their best. With a wide range of leggings and sports bras, in a large array of sizes, Peachylean is stylish and flattering.
