Forest Cabins at Mount Congreve Gardens

What is more romantic than a bottle of wine and your own hot tub? These handcrafter cabins in the magical woodlands of Mount Congreve Gardens is the perfect Waterford retreat. With a small space to cook your own breakfast, you can wake up nestled among the trees on Valentine’s Day with the one you love. The cabins offer a perfect balance of comfort, charm, and sustainable luxury.

Adele, ICM’s Digital Content Creator says: “These forest cabins are one of the best I’ve stayed at in Ireland. In the day you can explore the wider Mount Congreve Gardens or even cycle on the Waterford Greenway and at night you can hop into your own hot tub and watch the stars.”

The Grafton Hotel

If you’re keen to be in the thick of the excitement this Valentine’s weekend, The Grafton Hotel in Dublin is the perfect spot. Surrounded by world class shopping and historic landmarks, you can squeeze in chill time and culture. For the weekend that’s in it, you can mark the occasion by visiting the Shrine to St. Valentine at Whitefriar Church. A five-minute walk from The Grafton Hotel, guests can visit St. Valentine’s relics which will be on altar display for the Valentine’s weekend.

Culloden Estate and Spa

Standing high on the Holywood Hills, and views overlooking Belfast Lough and the County Antrim Coastline, the majestic Culloden Estate and Spa is just a stone’s throw from Belfast’s city centre. The building itself is a Gothic mansion steeped in history and one of the most distinguished five star hotels in Northern Ireland. Enjoy a night or two here on one of their King Koil ‘Cloud Beds’ and wake up feeling refreshed.

Megan, ICM’s Fashion and Feature’s Journalist says: “A stand out for me here is the locally sourced menu designed by head chef Mark Begley. Everything tasted so fresh and unique. The interiors are beautifully restored with magnificent stain glass windows in the origins building. Plus, the spa area and lounge rooms are pure escapism so be warned – you may never want to leave!”

The g Hotel & Spa

If you’re skipping an overnight stay for this occasion but still want to relax and unwind. Galway’s g Hotel & Spa are offering a range of thoughtfully crafted experiences throughout February 2026. Curated spa experiences, indulgent afternoon teas and thoughtfully crafted Valentine’s moments are all available with prices starting from €35 per person. If you do change your mind and decide to stay, their ‘Love is in the Éire’ package includes an overnight stay for two, with breakfast in bed, a signature Valentine’s cocktail in the Pink Lounge along with curated card games and letter writing to get the grá flowing.

Ballynahinch Castle

Tucked away in the heart of Connemara, the castle’s two-night ‘When You Love Someone’experience includes a luxurious stay, a candlelit dinner for two in the award-winning Owenmore Restaurant and a warm welcome with champagne and chocolates on arrival. Couples can also elevate the experience with time in the outdoor lakeview saunas, ideal for unwinding together before a riverside walk or garden stroll. Prices start from €330 per person.

Niamh Devereux, ICM’s Deputy Editor says: “What with its unparalleled views of the rugged, dramatic landscape (the castle hotel stands on 700 acres of riverside woodland), its flower, fruit and veg-filled walled gardens and its luxury, country chic rooms, this place is pure magic. I visited with my partner in 2024, and every moment was special, from cocktails in The Fisherman’s Pub and fine dining overlooking the flowing Owenmore River to a pre-prepared picnic on the nearby Gurteen & Dog’s Bay Beaches.”

Lough Eske Castle

If you’re looking for a bit of luxury this Valentine’s Day, Lough Eske Castle in County Donegal has it in spades. Nestled among dramatic landscapes and ragged coastlines, this award-winning spot is the perfect place to escape it all. Put your mobile on do not disturb and take in the surrounding area before unwinding in the hotel’s Lough Eske spa. If you’re looking to go all out this year, you can get a horse drawn carriage ride around the grounds of Lough Eske Castle for €50, or enjoy a champagne afternoon tea for €52 per person.

The Johnstown Estate Hotel

Indulgence is the first word that comes to mind when we think of The Johnstown Estate Hotel. From the decor, to the spa, it’s the perfect place to unwind for a night or two. You may not know this, but the hotel is also independently owned which shows in the small touches throughout. What’s best is that you don’t need to leave the warm comfort of the hotel, with two restaurants Fire & Salt for contemporary fine dining and The Coach House Brasserie for a more relaxed meal to fill your boots. You can also enjoy Afternoon Tea or pre-dinner drinks in the airy Atrium.
