Irish Country Magazine is looking for an Editorial Assistant to join its team

Irish Country Magazine has once again grown its readership, now reaching over 123,000 readers across Ireland with every issue. Our content is growing too, with a fast-growing digital audience and the hugely successful Irish Made Awards returning for its seventh annual year.

Irish Country Magazine is looking for a part-time Editorial Assistant, with applications closing on Tuesday 6 June, 2023:

Job description:

Irish Country Magazine is looking for a talented Editorial Assistant to join the team on a part-time contract, starting in June 2023. This is a great opportunity for a freelancer or multi-hyphenate journalist to gain excellent experience in a leading Irish title, work with a team that has a wealth of industry experience, and develop their contact book within Irish consumer and lifestyle media, PR, fashion, beauty, food, travel and more.

The right candidate will be a team player with a passion for magazines, researching and writing stories for both print and online. We are a small team with multiple channels across print, social and live events, and are looking for someone who can apply their skills across these channels with enthusiasm and fresh thinking.

The Editorial Assistant will assist the editorial and digital teams in creating and executing content across the print magazine, website and social media channels. From time to time, they will be required to attend photoshoots, events and go on trips on behalf of Irish Country Magazine.

Intern requirements:

  • Third level qualification in Journalism or Media (or working towards one)
  • Experience writing for lifestyle publications
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • A strong understanding of social media
  • A clear love of magazines and interest in our key pillars of content

Arrangements:

Part-time, 2.5 days per week. Office-based two days per week, subject to business requirements. Please note, attendance at events and travel abroad may be required. Six-month contract with possibility of extension.

Application details:

A CV and cover letter should be sent to recruit@irishcountrymagazine.ie with “Editorial Assistant” in the subject line.  Application deadline: Tuesday 6 June 2023.

The company is an equal opportunities employer.
