Irish Country Magazine has once again grown its readership, now reaching over 123,000 readers across Ireland with every issue. Our content is growing too, with a fast-growing digital audience and the hugely successful Irish Made Awards returning for its seventh annual year in 2023.

Job description: Digital Journalist
Irish Country Magazine is looking for a talented journalist and content creator to develop its ever-growing digital and social media platforms. They will work closely with the editorial, commercial, marketing and art departments to produce original content that is engaging and on-brand for our readers. The right person for the job will have an instinct for great stories and the ability to bring these stories to life digitally in an accurate and engaging way – be that via a long-form blog post, a quick reel or live tweeting.
Responsibilities:
- Creating original content for irishcountrymagazine.ie, its social media platforms and the print magazine
- Content to include writing articles, doing interviews, attending events and shoots, editing videos, managing a weekly schedule across Twitter, Instagram and more, and producing newsletters for Irish Country Magazine’s ever-growing subscriber list
- Liaising with the editorial, commercial and marketing teams to create unique content that will engage our digital audience and align with our strategic editorial pillars
- Supporting the Irish Made Awards, our annual awards campaign
- Attending photoshoots, events and going on trips on behalf of Irish Country Magazine (please note this may include international travel)
Candidate requirements:
Must have at least two years’ experience working for online platform where writing was a key responsibility. Must have excellent writing skills and an instinct for great stories; be proficient in SEO; be able to create video for various social channels; and the ability to meet set deadlines and targets. Podcast experience would be a bonus.
Working arrangements:
Part-time, 3 days per week, 9am to 5.30pm. Office-based one day per week, two days remote subject to business requirements. Fixed term contract for 6 months, with possibility of extension.

Job description: Intern
Irish Country Magazine is looking for a talented intern to join the team for a six-month, part-time placement, starting February 2023. The right candidate will have a passion for magazines, researching and writing stories for both print and online, and be a team player willing to get stuck in. We are a small team with multiple channels across print, social and live events, and this is a great opportunity for someone to gain hands-on experience with Ireland’s leading luxury lifestyle magazine.
The intern will assist the editorial and digital teams in creating and executing content across the print magazine, website and social media channels. From time to time, they will be required to attend photoshoots, events and go on trips on behalf of Irish Country Magazine.
Intern requirements:
- Third level qualification in Journalism or Media (or working towards one)
- Strong writing and communication skills
- A good understanding of digital and social media
- A clear love of magazines and interest in our key pillars of content
Internship arrangements:
Part-time, 2.5 days per week. Office-based one day per week, subject to business requirements. Six-month internship with possibility of extension.
