What to wear to your next Christmas party

Here are the festive trends to add to your wardrobe this party season

The festive season has officially begun. If you’re struggling to find an outfit for that Christmas party coming up, look no further. We have rounded up the latest trends that we expect to see everywhere this month. From dresses to boots, your party wardrobe is sorted.

Feathers

The Christmas season is the perfect time to go all out and wear those daring, dramatic pieces. Feathers are the perfect way to add some drama to your look. This Black Feather Studded Bodycon Dress (€200) from River Island is a show-stopping number that is guaranteed to turn heads.

Sequin trousers

Sequin trousers are everywhere this season and are a great option for Christmas parties. These Kick Flair Sequin Trousers (€179) from & Other Stories are a dazzling twist to regular flairs. Warm, comfortable and stylish, what’s not to love?

Glitter

Glittery pieces are a Christmas go-to that never get old. They were especially popular on the runways this year. As a party season favourite, there is plenty of choice both high-end and high-street to bling up your wardrobe. SLA The Label by Sarah Ashcroft is full of head-turning sparkly numbers that are available on their website. The Orange Ibiza Sequin Shirt Dress (€53.95) is perfect for a festive night out with the girls.

Western

Cowboy boots took over this summer and are remaining a footwear favourite for the winter. They serve as a stylish and more comfortable alternative to the classic heel. These Leather Western Block Heel Ankle Boots (€95) from M&S use Insolia technology to take pressure off of the balls of your feet making these boots an excellent option for Christmas party season.

Corset

The corset has remained a firm favourite this past year. It’s waist-synching properties make it a flattering detail on tops, dresses and more recently, blazers. Irish designer Aoife McNamara created the Spellbinding Waves Corset (€275), with a matching skirt that provides the wearer with an elegant silhouette.
