Five Irish hotels with outdoor swimming pools

When the sun shines in Ireland, check into one of these hotels with beautiful outdoor swimming pools.

We’ve been blessed with one of the most glorious Irish summers in recent memory this year, and instead of booking a trip abroad to escape the cold, we’re looking for ways to embrace the sunshine at home.

One of the best ways to do that is by heading to an outdoor swimming pool and soaking up some rays poolside. Here’s a look at five Irish hotels with outdoor pools.

Glasson Lakehouse

This four-star lakeside hotel in Westmeath has a heated outdoor pool for you to cool off in when the temperatures soar. Not only can you dip in the pool but you can also relax by it too as there is ample lounging around it for you to grab a magazine or book and perch yourself for the day. Prices start from €185 per night.

Ballymaloe House

With one of the only outdoor swimming pools in a Cork hotel, BallyMaloe House has the perfect pool to relax and unwind around. Nestled among the trees, the pool is open all-year round and heated by a biomass boiler. If you’re not a confident swimmer, or don’t want to get in too deep the pool also has a small paddling area with deeper 2-metre ends on the other side. Prices start from €318 per night.

The Europe Hotel & Resort

There’s nowhere else in the world you can find a view like this. Situated on the shores of Lough Léin, The Europe Hotel & Resort in Killarney county Kerry has world-class swimming facilities inside their 50,000-square-foot ESPA lakeshore spa. From their infinity edge outdoor pool, you can take in views of Killarney National Park and the MacGillycuddy’s Reeks mountain range. Prices start from €460 per night.

Farnham Estate

If you’re looking to fully relax and unwind, Farnham Estate Spa and Golf Resort in County Cavan has one of the country’s best adult-only thermal oasis. Donning a white robe for the day, you can float from the signature indoor-to-outdoor infinity pool overlooking the estate’s landscaped surroundings. Prices start from €155 per night.

Ardnavaha House Clonakilty

What’s better than a pool to float in when the sun is shining? A private pool to float in when the sun is shining. This adults-only self-catering oasis can sleep up to 12 guests in their six lodges with a private pool, gardens and more on the property. The pool is heated and opened from May to October, and if you fancy a visit during the colder months, the property opens access to its sauna and hot tub. Prices start from €125 per night.
