Drama, comedy, romance, sci-fi – Team ICM has delivered the telly goods once again
The Tattooist of Auschwitz: Sky TV
“I am currently watching The Tattooist of Auschwitz on Sky. It is a six-part drama series, based on the book of the same name and written by holocaust survivor Lali Sokolov. It feels strange to watch something so awful that unfolded so many years ago, and yet still, here we are in a world with so much ongoing conflict. What stands out for me in this series though, is that even throughout such a turbulent time, there are still good, kind people. It also shows how powerful perseverance, love and hope can be. A tough watch in parts, but very gripping and eye opening.” – Megan, Journalist
The Dry: Season 2 – RTÉ Player
The Dry, Season 2 was a fantastic comedic follow up to the first season that introduced us to the Sheridan family in all their dysfunctional glory. Shiv, played flawlessly by Roisin Gallagher, is a recovering alcoholic who spends this season trying to make amends for her past. A past her family, played by a host of Irish stars including Siobhán Cullen, Moe Dunford and Ciarán Hinds, rarely lets her forget about. Her new love interest, played by Hinds’ Kin co-star Sam Keeley, adds a delicious new dimension to an already brilliant plotline that will at times make you both laugh and cry. I loved it.” – Ariana, Sales Manager
Hacks: Season 3 – Amazon Prime Video
“If you’ve been watching this brilliant series, you’ll know just how sharp the writing is and how rare it is to see a female-centred TV series with a lead actress in her 70s! If you haven’t seen it, prepare to be utterly entertained. Jean Smart is electrifying as stand-up comedy diva Deborah Vance who is riding a new wave of popularity after she hires Gen Z writer Ava Daniels (Hannah Einbinder) to spice up her material. Season 3 is hilarious, touching, insightful, exciting and moves with a faster pace than the last two seasons combined. I adored it and am thrilled that it has been greenlit for a fourth season. Bring it on!” – Claire, Digital Journalist
Bridgerton: Series 3, Part One – Netflix
“I recently watched Bridgerton Season 3 and couldn’t get over the incredible performance by Irish actor, Nicola Coughlan. In this latest instalment, Nicola leads as the show’s love interest (Penelope Featherington.) Released in two parts, with the second set to air on 13 June, the first half of the series sees Penelope finally get together with the object of her affection, Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton). And now we await what is next for this loved-up pair.” – Elle, Acting Deputy Editor and Beauty Editor
Fallout: Amazon Prime Video
“Last year, I loved Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey in the deeply affecting PlayStation-to-TV adaptation of The Last of Us. Now, classic videogame Fallout has gotten the Hollywood treatment, with Ella Purnell (Jackie in the also excellent Yellowjackets) as its leading star. Also starring Walton Goggins, Aaron Moten and Kyle MacLachlan, this tells the story of 200 years post nuclear apocalypse, in a world where people must live in fallout shelters to avoid the horrors of radiation, mutants and bandits above. It’s violent and tense but also compelling and wacky and witty, with the most incredible 1930s/40s/50s soundtrack inspired by the in-game radio stations. Even if you’ve never picked up a game controller, you’ll have a ball watching this series, which leaves you guessing until the very last moments.” – Niamh, Acting Editor
Eric: Netflix
“Eric is a wholly original take on the familiar search-for-missing-child plotline. Superbly evocative of 1980s New York, it is by turns absorbing, tense and sometimes downright odd, but never less than compelling.” – Ciara, Art Director
