We adore our beauty bits and when it comes to creating summer looks, there are so many fabulous products and brands to choose from. Here are a few that we’re loving for day-to-day wear and the ones we’re bringing on holidays.
“I’ve been really loving Irish brand Hildun Beauty and its ‘Summer Nights’ collection, a collaboration with renowned makeup artist Hannah Martin. This includes a Sheer Glow Face Gel (€23), which is a beautiful, hydrating complexion enhancer; Soul Shimmer Shadows (€20) for some subtle eye sparkle; and my favourite: the Silk to Set Kajal Liner in Spiced Pecan (€18), a pigment-packed smoky, shimmering brown liner. Each one — considering the accessible price point — are premium quality, rivalling much more expensive luxury brands. I also adore the POCO Beauty Face Glaze highlight sticks (€21), as well as its new Gradual Tan (€25) and I’ve been loving Charlotte Tilbury’s new Unreal Blush Healthy Glow Sticks (€40) which give cheeks a pop of juicy colour in seconds. “My makeup bag doesn’t change massively from one season to another but I prefer to wear concealer rather than foundation in warm weather. For that, I find Catrice Liquid Camouflage Concealer (€3 – €4.50) really good. My eyebrows are a bit patchy au naturel and the Mrs Glam Carved Out Duo Brow Carving Pen (€19.95) in Medium Warm Brown is the perfect shade for me. I also love using the micro liner on the other end as an eyeliner – very handy! The Iconic Lip Balm in Mocha Twist (€11.99) has become my go-to shade for everyday wear and I also like the POCO Lip Oil Treatment which adds a nice sheen to bare lips without being gloopy or sticky. “I just returned from a holiday where I used Image Daily Prevention Ultra Defense Moisturiser SPF 50 Travel Size (€31.50) everyday. It is such a gorgeous SPF that I used on my face and decolletage. It glides on and blends well and my skin felt super protected in the hot sun throughout the day. I am also loving the Skn to Skn Go and Glow Daily Tinted Moisturiser (€38) which is a dream new product to hit the shelves. “I have always adored the Radiant Canvas primer by KASH beauty – €25. But now they have also added SPF50 to their dream formula. I love this primer under make up for a really smooth base but I also love to pop it on for make up free days to give my skin an amazing healthy glow. Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder – €44.95 is my “holy grail cannot be without” product. It is a higher price point for a powder, but very much worth it in my opinion. And when it comes to tan, I have tried and tested almost all of them but I seem to keep coming back to SoSu Cosmetics Bahama Body Tan Mousse – €14.95. I love the dark shade on my skin and it washes off so well. I have recently gone really light with my hair again for the summer but it’s hard to maintain that fresh salon colour and lightness. The products in the L’Oréal Professionnel Metal Detox Shampoo and Masque Bundle – €65.95 are a dream and get rid of a lot of the brassiness that can creep in.” – Megan, Journalist
