This is the perfect time to update your living space and if you need inspiration, look no further than Ireland’s largest home show

When you walk in the front door of your home after a long day at work or running errands, you want to feel at peace. Like you have left the outside world far behind and entered your own personal haven where you can de-stress and leave your cares behind.

If your home does not feel like that, or worse, stresses you out because of everything you want to change or update, then it’s time to take control of the situation.

There are so many ways to make your house feel like more of a home but it can be overwhelming if you have no idea where to start. That’s where the PTSB Ideal Home Show comes in.

Taking place in the RDS Simmonscourt, from 26 – 28 April, this fantastic event will have 230 exhibitors, interior designers, home improvement experts and leading Irish creatives on hand to share their tips, whether its translating the trends, advising on kitchen upgrades, or offering energy-saving solutions.

Colour theory

Fans of the BBC’s The Great Interior Design Challenge and Interior Design Masters will be thrilled to learn that Sophie Robinson is joining the line-up in the DFS Interiors Theatre on Saturday, 27 April. The interior designer has collaborated with DFS to create a joyously colourful furniture collection with statement silhouettes and striking shades. She will be joined in the DFS Interiors Theatre by Grace Cahill of ‘Styled by Grace’, architect Denise O’Connor of ‘Optimise Design’, and Patricia Power, quantity surveyor and regular on RTÉ’s Room to Improve, and many more.

Inspiration abounds in the Fleetwood Interior Design Hub where leading Irish designers, including Aileen Hogan of Shabby.ie, will create stunning roomsets, showcasing the trending 2024 Fleetwood Paints shades. Take your colour queries to the Fleetwood Paints Consultants who will be on hand throughout the weekend.

Luxe lighting, original accessories and on-trend furnishings are to be found in the Home Interiors Fair – a treasure trove of brilliant brands, including Finline Furniture, Natuzzi Editions, Diamond Furniture, Cusack Lighting and Interiors, and EZ Living.

Meet the experts

One of the most exciting features for the spring show is the ever-popular PTSB Centre where buyers, movers and improvers can access information on mortgage applications, budgets, valuations and more.

  • The nation’s most popular celebrity chef Neven Maguire returns to the Dunnes Stores Chefs Live Theatre with cooking demonstrations taking place throughout the weekend. Neven will be cooking up a delicious dinner and inviting lucky audience members to his Chef’s Table, so get there early to grab your seat! Throughout the weekend, Neven will be joined by special guests from the Dunnes Stores family, including celebrity garden designer, Diarmuid Gavin.

  • If you are renovating, building, or taking on any kind of home improvement project, a visit to the PhoneWatch Ask An Expert Hub is the clever choice for free advice on costs, planning, energy upgrades and more.
  • At the Mitsubishi Electric Ecodan Home Advice Theatre, top experts will share their know-how on sustainable energy systems, and smart technology solutions, as well as advice on planning and managing a new build or renovation.
  • Signature areas are ready to deliver one-stop-shops for all home improvement needs. Areas will include Build and Extend, Kitchens and Bathrooms, Garden, Lifestyle & Outdoor Living, and Self-Build. The show will also feature an exclusive Drive Electric show with journalist Bob Flavin chatting with electric vehicle specialists throughout the weekend.
