Rainy days call for wellies, but you don’t need to sacrifice style

Have you upgraded your wellies this year? If we can trust the Irish weather for anything, it’s heavy precipitation in the autumn and winter months. That means muddy puddles, rainy spells, and wet shoes. As the rain starts to trickle in, it’s time to make sure your shoe rack is prepared for muddier times. With these functional and stylish boots, you’ll look good while staying dry.

You can choose a boot that compliments your personal style, or go for a classic that will weather the test of time and trends. A short boot is ideal for pairing with jeans, or if you find taller fits to be tight around the calf.

Women’s Original Short Wellington Boots, €115.00

Sometimes you can’t go wrong with a classic. Hunter is a renowned brand for boots, so the investment goes a long way. They’ll protect your feet from the elements and are available in an array of colours.

Even&Odd, Wellingtons, €34.40

This Even&Odd boot gives a subtle nod to the combat boot, with a green colour and a funky lace-up design. They are comfortable and functional while also adding a cool element to a rainy-day outfit.

Regatta Lady Harper Ankle Wellies, €22

There are short boots, and then there are ankle wellies. These Regatta boots come with the reliability of the Regatta brand, while also being sure to prompt some puddle-side compliments.

Wellies.ie Ladies PVC Floral boot, €32

Wellies.ie have a wide range of rainwear available, from functional yard boots to their ‘funky’ section, complete with these fun floral short booties. The rainy season in Ireland is a long one, so you may as well play around with patterns and styles!

Derby Women’s Short Boots, €89.99

While these are technically muck boots ideal for any avid horse rider, they make for a functional take on the staple Chelsea boot. With a short style and ample protection from the elements, they’ll take you from track to town in no time.
