Winter-inspired cocktails to get you in the festive spirit

winter-inspired cocktail

It’s the time of year to start feeling festive so why not try out these delicious cocktail (and mocktail) recipes to dip your toe into the holiday season!

1. Beet The Cold

Ingredients:

– 35ml Tanqueray 0.0%
– 30ml beetroot and apple juice
– 15ml Christmas spiced honey syrup
– 15ml lemon juice

Method:

  • Make spiced honey syrup by adding a clove, cinnamon, star anise and orange peel to hot water for 5 minutes, add equal parts honey, strain and let cool
  • Add all components to a shaker, shake hard into a chilled glass
  • Garnish with grated nutmeg

2. Eggnog Fizz

Ingredients:

– 35ml Ketel One Vodka
– 15ml Baileys Irish Cream Liqueur
– 20ml lemon juice
– 35ml left-over Eggnog
– 10ml sugar syrup
– Topped with soda

Method:

  • To make a sugar syrup- mix 2-part sugar to 1-part water. Dissolve 300g of caster sugar in 150ml water over a low heat. Leave to cool and bottle for future use
  • Add all components to a shaker (except the soda), shake extremely well and strain into a chilled glass
  • Allow to settle for 2 minutes before pouring soda down bar spoon to land under the liquid and creating a lift.
  • Garnish with a dusting of nutmeg

3. Dry Yule Negroni

Ingredients:

– 35ml Tanqueray London Dry Gin
– 20ml Campari
– 15ml Irish berry wine
– 15ml sweet vermouth
– 1 dash angostura bitters

Method:

  • Add all components to a mixing glass, stir to combine.
  • Pour over ice in a tumbler glass.
  • Garnish with an orange slice and stick of cinnamon

4. Spiced Cosmopolitan

Ingredients:

– 35ml Ketel One Vodka
– 20ml Triple Sec
– 15ml lime juice
– 2 teaspoons of cranberry juice

Method:

  • Add all components to a shaker, shake hard and strain into a chilled glass
  • Garnish with flamed orange zest- this is the perfect opportunity to use any leftover clementines or orange rind following your Christmas baking

5. Can’t Catch Me

Ingredients:

– 50ml Roe & Co. Irish Whiskey
– 20ml Gingerbread syrup (Monin brand)
– 15ml egg whites
– 20ml lemon juice
– 1 dash angostura bitters

Method:

  • Add all components to a shaker, shake hard and strain into chilled tumbler over ice, the shaken egg whites will settle at the top like foam
  • Garnish with an orange slice
