Daytime lipsticks team Irish Country Magazine loves

Looking for the perfect natural or statement lip that will stay put all day and won’t dry out your lips? Here are the top picks from team Irish Country Magazine

Rimmel Lasting Finish Matte Lipstick: Hollywood Red – €8.99

“This lipstick stays on all day and has little smear or stain. It’s a nice deep rouge colour and fairly inexpensive.” – Ariana, Sales Manager

Stila Stay All Day Matte Lip Colour: First Kiss – €15.45

“I’m more of a lip balm or tint person, than a lipstick. I like Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk for a natural daytime look but Stila was mentioned to me when I enquired recently about people’s go-to brands for lipstick. Claiming to bridge the gap between your favourite lip balm and lipstick, the Stay All Day Matte Lip Colour is next on my ‘to buy’ list as it’s quite pigmented while also being conditioning and hydrating. This is important because, although my lips can get dry as the day goes on, I always prefer a matte finish.” – Claire, Digital Journalist

MACximal Silky Matte Lipstick: Lady Danger – €30

Photo: Brown Thomas

“For a vibrant pop of colour, I love Mac’s orange-based red, Lady Danger. It’s the kind of shade that really livens up a basic tee-and-jeans with minimal makeup look, plus one application lasts ages. For a less bright, more understated rouge, Charlotte Tilbury’s ‘Mark of Kiss’ is a hugely wearable, hydrating matte formula. This one is great if you want to just dip your toe in the red lippie pool, plus, there is an accompanying lipliner in the same shade.

“Finally, for a dramatic shade, (and an Irish option) I love Sculpted by Aimee’s Lip Duo in ‘Double Trouble’; a creamy lipstick/liner combo that gives a perfect statement pout.” – Niamh, Deputy Editor

Chanel: Rouge Coco Baume, shade 920 In Love – €42

Photo: Chanel

“I’m typically not a red lipstick-wearer (I typically wear something like Joli Rouge Satin in Soft Berry by Clarins), but as spring is finally here, I’ve been trying to wear more bright colours. I’ve been reaching for this Chanel one a lot because I like that it’s a balm texture, so doesn’t feel as scary as a full-cover or matte red. It is buildable and there’s a bit of pink in it, which is what I would usually go for. It would make a really nice gift if you’re looking for something for the person who has everything!” – Klara, Editor

Rimmel: Lasting Finish 8 Hour Lip Liner – €4.95

Photo: Look Fantastic

“I love Rimmel Cappuccino lip liner and a Burt’s Bees lip balm combined. The lip liner has a lovely creamy texture and is long-wearing and there are lots of great shades in the collection for anyone looking for more of a statement lip.” – Megan, Fashion and Features Journalist
