Support Irish and treat yourself and your loved ones to artisan chocolate creations this Easter

Whether you’ve developed a taste for the finer things in life, or want to send someone an indulgent egg to make this Easter feel special, you are spoiled for choice this year. Irish makers have knocked it out of the park with a huge selection of Irish-made eggs hitting the shelves this Easter. Here are some of our favourites. Lily O’Brien’s

Treat  a loved one to a very special delivery from the Easter bunny with the decadent Easter Gift Bag by Lily O’Brien’s (€25). Lir

Lir’s delicious selection of eggs are handfinished by the talented chocolatiers in Navan, Co Meath. Choose from the Lir Milk Chocolate Octagonal Egg with Salted Caramel Truffles, (€10) or the Lir Dark Chocolate Octagonal Egg with Milk Chocolate Truffles (€10),  or the Crispy Caramel Egg. Those with a particularly sweet tooth will love Lir’s Creamy White Chocolate Egg (€8)

Avoca

Avoca is championing Irish chocolatiers with eggs from Irish makers including Bean & Goose Chocolate, Lorge Chocolatier, Skelligs Chocolate and The Chocolate Garden of Ireland.

Hazel Mountain Chocolate

The Hazel Mountain Chocolate Wild Atlantic Egg (from €28) is a stunning limited edition egg featuring a handpainted sea crashing against a rocky base made with salted toasted almonds and bean to bar chocolate.

Arcane Chocolate

Eric Van der Veken of Arcane Chocolate’s collection of six luxury Easter eggs have a whimsical flair and use 100% sustainably sourced chocolate. The standout of the collection is the Noir (€69), which combines luxe cacao with exclusive Piedmontese hazelnuts, and is sprinkled with caramelised hazelnut and wafer pieces before being encrusted with 21 carat gold leaf. The Arcane Chocolate selection box contains miniature versions of the Noir, a Millionaire’s Egg, Sicily and Fruits Rouges (€17.50 for nine, €26 for 16). While the collection is sold out online, you can find the eggs in fine food stores such as Fallon & Byrne, The Butler’s Pantry and Forest Avenue.

Aldi

Aldi has a wide selection of Easter eggs on offer, including Áine’s Premium Dark Chocolate Egg (€9.99) and Róisín’s Irish Honeycomb Easter Egg (€7.99).
