With all this time at home, you might have already gone through all your festive favourites. Here are some great new films to watch with the family

Make yourself comfy on the couch and line up these brilliant movies in the days ahead. Whether you’re in the mood for adventure or something heartwarming, these films will appeal to all the family.

The Midnight Sky

Directed by and starring George Clooney, this post-apocalyptic tale follows George Clooney, a lonely scientist in the Arctic as he tries to stop a team of astronauts from returning to Earth. A mysterious global catastrophe has taken place, but Sully played by Felicity Jones, and the rest of her crew can only hear radio silence.

Sylvie’s Love

This film is a romantic epic, reminiscent of La La Land, about starcrossed youths who fall in love one summer, but part ways to pursue their career dreams. The young lovers part ways in order to pursue their professional passions, yet when they meet again, as the people they were meant to be with their own independent lives, there is still a spark. Starring Tessa Thompson and Nnamdi Asomugha star in this charming musical, which will melt your heart on Christmas Day.

Lily James plays a free-spirited writer based in London who unexpectedly forms a bond with the residents of Guernsey, who formed a secret book club during the WWII German occupation.

If Christmas clutter gets you down, turn over a new leaf this year with inspiration from this movie from The Minimalists. The pair who have driven a movement towards minimalism with their popular blog and podcast have created a second film to inspire the masses to quit clutter for good.
