The summer may not be here just yet but April is certainly shaping up to be a busy month of exciting events, entertaining gigs and interesting festivals
Throughout April: One Dublin One Book 2025
For 20 years now, One Dublin One Book has aimed to encourage everyone in Dublin to read a chosen book, connected with the capital city, during the month of April. This year’s pick is Dublin, Written in our Hearts.
Throughout April: Murmurations’ an Exhibition by Vincent Sheridan at Kilruddery, Co Wicklow
Vincent Sheridan’s art practice delves into the complex social behaviours and mesmerising flight dynamics of birds, particularly crows, swifts and starlings. His fascination lies in the intricate ‘murmurations’ — the captivating, brushstroke-like patterns formed by flocks in motion. The exhibition runs until the 8 May at Killruddery Yard and there is free parking and admission.
Throughout April: The Films of David Lean, IFI, Dublin
Few filmmakers have created a body of work as respected and influential as that of double Oscar-winning director Sir David Lean. They include Lawrence of Arabia, Doctor Zhivago and Brief Encounter, but if you’re not familiar with his work, this is your chance to rectify that.
Until 20 April: CA Collective Exhibition at the Royal Hibernian Academy (RHA)
Open to the public until 20 April, the free CA Collective Exhibition is back for its second year, featuring the powerful work of 22 talented artists from the 27-member CA Collective – an inclusive community of artists who identify as having an intellectual disability or are from the neurodiverse community.

Calling all beauty enthusiasts! Kildare Village will have a range of offers and promotions from leading luxury wellness and beauty boutiques, as well as must attend masterclasses and events from some of the industry’s best-known gurus.
1-5 April: Cruel Intentions, The 90s Musical at The Gaiety Theatre
If you were as obsessed with the film as we were, don’t miss the smash-hit musical that brings the seductive drama of the cult classic Cruel Intentions to the stage, packed with the ultimate ‘90s soundtrack.
3 April: Spring/Summer Fashion Afternoon Tea at The K Club
Come see the creations of Ireland’s best-loved designers including Paul Costelloe, Synan O Mahony, Sookyoung Song, Melissa Curry and Cobbler’s Lane at this one-off event that attracts the fashion-forward and provides a feast for all the senses. Curated By Design Centre’s S/S pop-up shop will also be in The K Club’s grand surrounds until 28 April.
4-6 April: Wander Wild Festival

5 April: Pig’s Lane x Wander Wild Fest presents Moncrieff Live, Killarney
If you’re attending the Wander Wild Festival this year, don’t miss a very special concert by Moncrieff, who takes to the stage at St. Mary’s Church of the Sloes, on Saturday 5 April for an intimate acoustic gig.
6 April: Dog’s Day Out at Ballymaloe Grain Store, Co Cork
Could your dog do with a day out? If so, bring them to this epic one-day festival for our furry friends featuring everything from playful puppy zones and thrilling agility courses, to expert training demos, competitions, games and a not-to-be-missed Dog Show.
8-13 April: Cúirt International Literature Festival, Galway
The beloved literary festival is marking a huge milestone in 2025! For the last 40 years, the community of Galway has come together with visiting writers to create a unique celebration of writing. This year, Cúirt will welcome international writers from Zambia, USA, UK, Canada, Nigeria, Palestine and Galicia as well as showcasing the very best of recent Irish writing.
10 April: Artform at the Dunmore
Art lovers will adore this vibrant exhibition featuring works by over 80 artists at The Dunmore, Rathmines, Dublin 6. The event will take place from 5pm-7pm, offering an immersive art experience from established and emerging artists living and working in Ireland.
10 April: Everyday Women: Irish women in archival sources
The Guinness Storehouse is set to host a one-day conference in the Arrol Suite to bring together archivists, historians and enthusiasts to share female experiences in Irish history, both home and abroad, across the 18th, 19th and early 20th centuries. Free tickets are available here.
13 April: A West Cork Collaboration at Rare at Blue Haven in Kinsale
This is a must for foodies! Two of West Cork’s top chefs, Meeran Manzoor of Rare at Blue Haven and Rob Krawczyk of Restaurant Chestnut are joining forces for a special collaboration in Kinsale. They have created an exclusive tasting menu which celebrates the best of seasonal, local produce, highlighting the rich culinary landscape of Cork. Tickets are €125 per person.
13 April: Spring Wedding Showcase at Redcastle Hotel, Donegal
If you’ve been thinking about having your wedding day in Donegal, make sure to attend the Spring Wedding Showcase taking place in the Redcastle Oceanfront Golf & Spa Hotel. The event is designed to inspire and help couples create their perfect day in a glorious venue surrounded by sea views. Entry to the showcase is free, but appointments are recommended.
15 April: Cocktails with a Twist at Kinara Kitchen

17 April: Leviathan
Not exactly an event, Leviathan is a nine-part travel and cooking series that celebrates Ireland’s vibrant creative culture, showcasing the stories of wild food foragers, artisan makers, organic farmers, and musicians. The first episode will be available to watch here on 17 April.
25-27 April: The Beauty MRKT at Dundrum Town Centre
This is another one for beauty lovers to mark in their calendars. Anyone attending The Beauty MRKT at Dundrum Town Centre can expect an immersive weekend experience bringing together the best in the beauty industry with fresh ideas, expert panels, and the latest trends. The event is open to the public with specific ticketed events, talks and exclusives which will be available from Eventbrite from 8 April.
25-27 April: Waterford Festival of Food
This April, Dungarvan will once again play host to the Waterford Festival of Food – Ireland’s longest-running celebration of food and community which brings locals and visitors together to celebrate the rich food culture of the region.
26 April – 7 June: “Ar an Imeall – On The Edge” Exploring Ireland’s Offshore Islands
This is set to be a landmark solo exhibition of 58 paintings by Kildare-based artist Pamela de Brí at Kilcock Art Gallery, Kildare. Her art explores the in-depth story of Ireland’s offshore islands encapsulating their history and culture.
27-28 April: Reruns – The Preloved Designer Fashion Pop-Up Event

30 Apr – 1 May: Sclimpíní
Created by Edwina Guckian in collaboration with Mikel Murfi, this immersive dance work is inspired by stories of Irish folk tales and traditions. These stories have inspired the creation of this unique new dance work, with performances by musicians Ultan O’Brien, Eoghan Ó Ceannabháin, and renowned harpist Laoise Kelly.
