Accessories to disguise bad hair days

No one will notice your roots with big and bold hair accessories

Joanne Hynes headband (limited edition), Dunnes Stores (€110)

It has been a long time since we have seen our hairstylists and it’s starting to show. Having a bad hair day every day for the next few weeks isn’t ideal, so now is the time to embrace fun accessories that will hide a multitude. Think thick hairbands, distracting beautiful hairclips and cute headscarfs.

Embrace the band

Wider headbands will offer the coverage your roots need. Now is not the time for subtle options, so choose tactile fabrics and pretty detailing. You have a few options with how you style it. Keep hair straight, sleek and shiny, or encourage more volume with a spritz of dry shampoo and texturising spray. Wearing a hairband with a tidy ponytail at the nape of the neck is a lowkey way to hide hairstyles that have grown out too.

Create a diversion

Hair clips have blown up in popularity and size in recent seasons and that bodes well for creating a style that distracts from faded colour and hair that’s grown too long. If you’re untidy hair is bothering you, slick it back and throw in a bright and beautiful hair slide or bow.
