From pre-show drinks to animated interval conversations, Circle Club elevates the theatre experience and creates memorable moments before, during and after the curtain rises
Some nights at the theatre are memorable simply for the show. Others are noteworthy for everything that goes along with the experience: the glass of wine beforehand, the excitement as the lights go down, the discussions during the interval and the moments that stay with you long after the curtain falls.
Circle Club, the exclusive and elegant private members’ club at Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, turns a trip to a show into a special occasion in its own right. Arrive early and step away from the bustle of the theatre into the calm of the private lounge. Offering you a chance to settle into the evening over a delicious meal, there’s always a buzz of excitement in the air. At the interval, your table will be waiting, perhaps with your dessert of choice, a cheeseboard or another drink.
When the final curtain falls, Circle Club also gives members somewhere to continue the night. Return to the lounge for a nightcap, linger over the evening and share your thoughts on the performance before heading home.

Because, ultimately, theatre has always been about more than just what happens on stage. It’s about the stories we hear, as well as the ones we create ourselves with the people around us; the emotions they provoke and the conversations they inspire.
Over the coming months, there will be plenty to talk about as the remainder of 2026 brings a rich programme to Dublin – each show offering a new opportunity to gather friends and loved ones together for a night out.
From the glamour and intrigue of High Society (fresh from a sell-out West End run), to beloved opera Carmen starring Irish mezzo-soprano Niamh O’Sullivan and a special appearance from Tony Award winner Leslie Odom Jr of Hamilton fame, there is something to suit all tastes.

Later in the year comes something altogether darker with The Silence of the Lambs, an electrifying new play based on Thomas Harris’s chilling psychological thriller, before the mood changes once again for Christmas with Mrs Doubtfire. Based on the much-loved film, the stage production arrives in Dublin in December, making it the perfect choice for a festive get-together – complete with drinks and nibbles at Circle Club.
The story certainly does not end there either, and 2027 brings Reginald Rose’s gripping courtroom drama Twelve Angry Men, followed by a wonderfully nostalgic run of musicals. Singin’ in the Rain amps up the Hollywood glamour, Dirty Dancing promises plenty of familiar favourites, while Cats, Grease and Chicago all return too.

For moments when the gathering itself is the main event, Circle Club has all bases covered. Alongside the main private members’ lounge, The Terrace sits on the uppermost floor of the theatre, boasting panoramic views across Dublin’s docklands. Whether it is an intimate dinner or a larger celebration, the Circle Club team can create a tailored private event package, from bespoke menus to premium drinks.
For those who want to make a whole season of it, Circle Club offers a choice of memberships, from Patron Circle for two, through Producers and Executive Circle for families, small groups and corporate entertaining, to the highly personalised Directors Circle, which offers unlimited entertaining. The only private members’ club within a theatre in Ireland, Circle Club has something to suit all requirements.
