It’s that time of year when we gather around the TV to re-watch our favourite Christmas movie. And new research by Virgin Media Ireland has revealed what the best Christmas films are, according to Irish audiences. These are the Christmas classics we return to year after year.

Home Alone and Love Actually were revealed as Ireland’s joint-most popular Christmas movies, based on search behaviour during the festive period across the past five years. But the rest of the top ten may surprise you.

In third place is action movie Red One, starring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Chris Evans and Lucy Liu.

Fourth is Die Hard, the Bruce Willis classic, and the number five spot goes to comedy Elf.
