The Paralympic Games are taking place in Paris from 28 Aug – 8 Sept and promise to be every bit as thrilling as the Olympic Games that captured the imagination of the whole world a few weeks ago.
Ireland has a grand total of 230 Paralympic medals and is one of only 23 countries that competed in Rome’s inaugural Paralympic Games in 1960. Our island nation has taken part in every one since then and will be hoping to add to the impressive medal haul achieved in Paris already this year.
