If you’re doing Veganuary, or buying chocolate for a plant-based beau this Valentine’s, you can still count on a classic chocolate taste. The corporate answer to Willy Wonka has just unveiled a new plant-based bar to Irish tastebuds. The new Cadbury Plant Bar is the first ever dairy-free offering from the brand, available in two flavours; Smooth Chocolate and Salted Caramel.

You might be wondering what they’ve used to kick the dairy out of the Dairy Milk, and the answer is nuts! By switching out milk for almond paste, the bars are smooth and creamy with just a little nuttiness. The new range carries the Vegan Trademark as registered by the Vegan Society and is wrapped in 100% plant-based packaging.

The bar was cooked up over two years at the Mondelez International’s Global Centre of Excellence for Chocolate Research and Development in Bournville. And it all grew from a mission to create a bar that gives more choice to consumers. You can buy the new Cadbury Plant Bar at SuperValu and Dunnes Stores, and it will launch in Tesco from March. Just in time for Easter!
