The iconic Ballymaloe Grainstore in East Cork will once again transform into a winter market wonderland with over 150 stalls

Nothing says the festive season is fast approaching like the Ballymaloe Craft Fair! The fair is taking place over two November weekends, with 250 stalls across the month. On November 19-21 and  26-28 the Grainstore will become home to some of the country’s finest makers and sellers, with everything from art to accessories for sale. Due to the popularity of the fair in pre-covid times, it is spread over the two weekends. This is to ensure the high number of visitors are safe and comfortable.

In essence, locally sourced items that are Irish made, many of which are sustainable, will be on display.  The event, which is suitable for the whole family, will be open from 5-9pm each Friday evening. There will be ample opportunity to browse and buy on Saturdays and Sundays, with the Craft Fair open from 10am to 5pm. Plus, the fair will play host to a very special guest – Mrs Claus! Played by Alice Noggin, she’ll be seeking help to name a brand new reindeer. Tickets to pop in are €5, available at the gate, and include homemade biscuits.

This year, the fair are recognising the incredible work by St Vincent de Paul, so attendees will be given the opportunity to support the charity as they shop.

The nitty gritty

  • Fair admission costs €6 while entry is free for children under 12.
  • There is free parking available onsite.
  • Those who attend the opening weekend (November 19 -21) have the option of returning for the second weekend at a discounted price. Tickets will cost €5 and there will be a whole hose of new stalls to browse.
  • Every guest attending the Craft Fair will need to present proof of covid vaccine or immunity or a valid certificate showing they are covid-free. This is in line with Government guidelines and restrictions on events.

Stall holders include Coolree Designs, SallyAnne bags, and Rafeen Rustic. With live demonstrations, children’s activities, food, mulled wine, cider, and live music, this is a definite event for the diary.
