This impressive selection of Irish country house hotels, castles and restaurants welcomes two exciting new properties for 2020

Ireland’s Blue Book, the unique collection of stunning places to stay and eat in Ireland, has two stylish new options on the list. The addition of Glin Castle in Limerick, owned by Catherine Fitzgerald and Dominic West, and The Wilder Townhouse in Dublin 2, bring the total number of properties in the Ireland’s Blue Book Collection to 56. Both offer a completely different experience.

Glin Castle

Home of the Fitzgerald family for 800 years, the castle sits in a 400 acre wooded demesne on the banks of the river Shannon. Behind the house, there are romantic grounds and a bountiful walled garden to explore. Glin Castle is available for private rental accommodation, events, golf tours and small weddings. The castle boasts 15 luxurious, uniquely decorated ensuite bedrooms, a grand entrance hall, dining room, comfortable library and an elegant drawing room. On the grounds, you can enjoy clay pigeon shooting, yoga, archery as well as evening whiskey tastings and Irish music.

The Wilder Townhouse

Located in the heart of the city centre, The Wilder is a characterful place to stay, full of Victorian charm with contemporary touches. The stunning red brick building was once a home for retired governesses. Now it houses a stylish art deco-inspired residents bar, The Gin and Tea, and 42 guests ensuite guestrooms and luxurious suites.
