Win a family pass to LGBT+ rugby tournament, Union Cup

Dublin is hosting Europe’s biggest LGBT+ rugby tournament this weekend and we have two family passes to give away to rugby fans

Union Cup is a brilliant weekend of sport which will see 45 teams from 15 countries playing at the DCU on 7-9 June.

This year will feature the inaugural women’s competition, with eight female teams competing.

This inclusive competition sends a brilliant message about the importance of equality, supporting our LGBT+ community and of promoting physical well being.

To mark the fourth anniversary of the Marriage Referendum, the women’s teams will be playing for the Ann Louise Gilligan Cup.

The cup celebrates Dr Gilligan’s work and dedication to equality, LGBT+ rights and inclusion, and her wife, Minister Katherine Zappone, was involved in the cup’s creation.

“I sincerely thank the Union Cup and the entire rugby community for the great honour they have bestowed on my beloved Ann Louise. She shared the Irish passion for sport and would be thrilled to be remembered in such a way,” Minister Zappone said.

“Sport is the lifeblood of our country, and should be open and accessible to all. The Union Cup is a huge opportunity to show this in action. It will again place Ireland as an international leader in terms of equality, fairness and justice. I encourage everyone to come out and support this fantastic event.”

This will be a fantastic event for sports fans to support, so any rugby-loving families should enter below to be in with a chance to win a family pass. We have two to give away.
